- McDonald brings over 20 years’ experience working within regulatory compliance and data protection
- Appointment follows a period of rapid growth for the identity verification provider
ID-Pal, a leading global identity verification provider, has announced the appointment of Sinead McDonald, the company’s Data Protection Officer (DPO), to the Board of Directors.
McDonald will play a critical part in ensuring the ISO 27001 certified solution sustains its reputation for providing businesses with a simple, secure and compliant way to verify the identity and address of customers in any jurisdiction or language.
The addition of McDonald to the board following ID-Pal’s recent Series A funding round, led by Inspire Investments, saw the identity verification provider secure €7 million to scale operations globally.
McDonald joined ID-Pal in 2017 bringing with her over 20 years of experience in data protection and regulatory compliance. McDonald’s resume includes 17 years at J.P. Morgan, as well as several years serving as Head of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs at Information Security Assurance Services (ISAS), and is Director of Data Protection at Waystone.
A qualified solicitor and holding a number of diplomas in legal studies, amongst them an Advanced Diploma in Data Protection Law, McDonald is also a member of the Institute of Directors, Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland and the Association of Data Protection Officers in Ireland. More recently McDonald earned certification and a diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors.
On being appointed to the Board of Directors in ID-Pal, Sinead McDonald, Data Protection Officer, said:
